On my way home from Pride I was reflecting on who I was six months ago: a closet case who felt alone and unhappy. Sunday was my first pride and it was the polar opposite from who I was. I felt so loved, so seen, and so wholly myself. I'm so grateful for the encouragement you've given me to grow and guiding me towards finding the authentic "me." It's been two days since Pride and I still get tears just thinking about how loved I feel and how much more myself I am able to be!
I was amazed at how far I've come over the last 8 weeks. When I reached out to you, I was stuck. I didn't know there was a way out. Now I have come out to my friends and am progressing towards the life I want with purpose and the skills to get there. I have goals to become who I want to be and I have the determination to belong instead of trying to fit in. I know I have more work to do, but I'm grateful for you and this community and the roles you have played in helping be out and proud. To top it off, I was driving to work the other day and I consciously thought - I'm pretty f***ing happy with my life right now. Thanks for helping me along this journey, and I can't wait to see what the future holds.
