Also known as WeHo, West Hollywood is a central neighborhood in the heart of LA, but it’s actually considered its own city. It was incorporated as its own city in 1984 in response to rising rents across town. It has a high walkability score compared to many neighborhoods in Los Angeles. WeHo sits in between glitzy Beverly Hills to the west and a jam-packed Hollywood to the east. With all its boutique shops, restaurants, gay bars, and iconic landmarks, WeHo is on the cusp of LA’s latest wellness trends.
Along with other luminaries such as Provincetown, Palm Springs, and San Francisco, West Hollywood is one of the most influential cities in the US for its advocacy on LGBTQ rights. No other city of its (relatively small) size has had a greater impact on the our policies on fairness for our community. Over 40-percent of its residents identify as LGBTQ, and most of its city council members are openly gay.
The gay bars near the "Norma Triangle" in Weho’s Boystown are culturally significant. Everywhere you turn there’s another jam-packed bar filled with people, and it has more nightlife than any one person knows what to do with. But there is also quite a bit of culture to be experienced during the day, including the endless people watching along Santa Monica Boulevard.
Christopher Street West's annual Gay Pride Parade was centered in WeHo since 1979 on its iconic Santa Monica Boulevard, drawing hundreds of thousands of people. However, in 2020, the organizers behind LA Pride parted ways. The parade was canceled in 2020, in what would have been its 50th anniversary, because of COVID-19 precautions. The parade was canceled again in 2021 because of COVID-19 concerns.
In 2022, LA Pride will be held June 12 in Hollywood, marking a change from recent years when the event was held in West Hollywood. Weho will have its own pride festivities from June 3-5 this year.
Unsurprisingly, West Hollywood has a higher amount of Los Angeles gay massage therapists than any other district. These guys can be found working in salons, their own studios, and will even make outcalls to the home.
It's not uncommon for a gay masseur to be available last-minute, but as always, we do recommend that you book with plenty of time, so as to ensure you get in. Their schedules are quite busy!
Their massage styles typically range from Deep Tissue to Swedish, typically, with a few other modalities as well. You will find a lot of them are also actors and singers, and work in the entertainment industry as well (after all, it is Los Angeles).
If you are in the area, or you live here, don't hesitate to book an appointment with one of our West Hollywood gay masseurs in Los Angeles. You can also head to our home page, and type in one of the familiar zip codes of 90069 or 90046, and they'll pop right up!
