not your average acupuncturist
I'm a second generation practitioner of old school traditional Chinese medicine: down to earth, practical, and results driven.
Yes, I lived in China. Yes, I speak Chinese. Yes, I use this background to give my patients access to medical care they can't get anywhere else.
I'm committed to the preservation and transmission of historically consistent traditional Chinese medicine. It's not only socially just; there's a really good reason why ancient doctors started poking each other. I'll show you...
Did you know you're actually supposed to feel it? It's kind of like scratching an itch no one can else can reach... except I can reach it.
More importantly though, sensation denotes precision. If you don't feel anything, not much is probably happening. Do you really want me to miss?
Acupuncture is good. With herbs, it's even better. Take the medicine I give you. You'll get better faster.
what do I treat?
Traditional Chinese medicine is a comprehensive medical model developed at a time when there were no alternatives. This means it had to be to treat everything from wounds, to infections, even to plagues. Moreover, the greatest minds in Chinese history contributed to it, making it an extremely logical and highly practical system.
Acupuncture and herbs can thus be used to treat far more than aches and pains. In fact, it is wonderfully effective for all sorts of conditions ranging from acute to chronic injuries, IBS to colitis, eczema to psoriasis, panic attacks to depression, and everything in between.
Authentic Chinese medicine is not 'spa-cupuncture'. It persevered in the face of Western colonialism because it works. It is serious medicine treating serious disease.
Are you ready to get better?
The first appointment includes a comprehensive intake. Upwards of 1/2 to 2/3 of the first appointment will be spent gathering information so as to accurately diagnose the problem and devise the most effective strategy to treat it. This may include acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, manual therapy, herbal medicine, or any combination. Treatment will generally be performed during the first session. Though positive results are generally to be expected, the first treatment is primarily used to familiarize the practitioner with the patient's body, familiarize the patient with acupuncture, and to assess the patient's response. If it is decided that herbal medicine is necessary, an herbal formula will be prescribed during the first visit as well. Herbal formulas are shipped directly to the patient and are generally received 1-2 days after ordering. Follow-ups ought to be scheduled within 3 to 7 days after acupuncture or within 5-7 days after beginning an herbal regimen. This will allow enough time to elapse to determine their efficacy, build upon the results already obtained, and to allow for strategic changes if necessary.

Insomnia was a big deal for me and after having treatment combined with Chinese herbs, I am much better. A kind, gentle, studious practitioner, with whom I have had the pleasure of being treated by. Thanks Loren!

Loren knows what he's doing, and takes a very pragmatic, yet holistic approach to healing and wellness. In one session, he helped me with some bloating issues, and prescribed just the right thing - that doesn't mean he's finished with me yet! He doesn't rush the process, and listens to the body. Top-notch.
